Bentley OpenComms Designer Help

Locate Path

The 'Locate Path' command finds, highlights and reports on fiber paths between two devices in the fiber network based on entered criteria. Locate Path functionality for fiber does not require Fiber to be connected, it locates all paths, and shows the number of Splices required for the path.

Locate a Path

  1. From the OpenComms Fiber tab, select the Locate Path command from the Review/Validate section.

  2. Select two fiber device points on an extracted area to determine whether or not there are available fibers to connect the two devices.
  3. The Select Fiber Status dialog box opens.

  4. Select a fiber status to look for and click OK.
  5. The Route Path dialog box opens.

  6. Click Draw to display the fiber path on the map.
  7. Click Detail to open the OS Fiber Trace Report.
  8. Click Cancel to exit.
Note: For the 'Locate Path' command to work correctly, all data and modifications must be posted first, and it is recommended that the user exit the program and come back in before running this command, if any new fiber data had recently been added.
